It seems only fitting that the first post on the newly rebuilt Gazfunk.com should be Billy Wade & The 3rd Degree – “Tear It Up…
After a long overdue refresh, I’ve pretty much torn the old site apart and put it back together again — new design, same obsession with funk, soul, latin, R&B and rare grooves.
So what better way to kick things back off than with Billy Wade & The 3rd Degree doing exactly that — Tearing it up.
Billy Wade Delivers A Heavy Funk 45 That Does Exactly What It Says On The Tin
This particular 45 is heavy… very heavy! Raw vocals, pounding drums and that relentless groove that makes a great funk record impossible to sit still to – perfect for a heaving funk club! Just like my last post (Victoria Williams and J.B. Ledbetter – Show Some Sign), this is yet again a one release wonder. Just because it is obscure, doesn’t mean it isn’t great – right?
I hope you enjoy the record and what I have done with the place! There will definitely be more regular posts from me going forward, with plenty more funk, soul, latin, R&B and rare grooves in the pipeline. So if you don’t already, please follow, share etc and help to spread the funk!
