Luchito – Dap Walk

Hello again! I know, I know – it’s been a while. Life etc, you know? Anyway I’m here now with another great piece of wax for you to wolf down.

This one is a “new” (I say new, but it’s only 2 years old) release of an old favourite. I’m sure those of you who dig the Deep Funk sound will be aware of the original release by Ernie & The Top Notes. Cut back in 1972 it was one of the tunes that defined the scene of the 80s and late 90s/2000s funk revival. If, like me you were unable to source a copy at the time, then this version is perfect. You also don’t have to pay £400+ for a copy either.

The Luchito in question is Luchito Munoz -a singer, arranger and producer from Lima, Peru. There’s not a lot of difference between this and the original, save for some words in Spanish and a bit more of a latin vibe. As you can imagine, playing this in a club gets a great response. Oh, and you can pick up a copy for around £15. What more could you ask for???
