I know it’s been a while since my last post but I’ve been super busy recently. My new DJ residency kicked off a few weeks back so that’s taken up quite a bit of my time. Hopefully things are all in order now and I can get back to posting more regularly.
So today’s selection must go down as one of my all-time favourite funk records. I can’t remember when, or where I first heard it but as soon as I did I absolutely loved it. This particular ’45 was cut in ’69 and was one of only 2 singles that he produced (the other being There Goes Another Lover in ’72).
I don’t really know too much about him if I am honest. After doing some digging it appears that he was a Philly native who was a member of a group called “The Thieves”. Beyond that, I’m pretty much stuck. Nonetheless, with a track this dope the backstory doesn’t matter so much. So sit back, relax, and hit that little play button and enjoy this sublime piece of funk.

Just discovered this song “Look At Your Brother.” So goo dand so timely still
