Something of a slightly different vibe for you this week (but no less quality!). This one has a bit more of an r&b feel than what I normally feature. If you haven’t heard it before I’m sure you’ll still appreciate it.
Little Bob (or Lil’ Bob or Camille Bob) was a singer from Louisiana. He originally started out as a drummer in his band The Lollipops. Later, he added singing to the mix. Over time, he focused solely on singing. He released a number of singles spanning r&b, swamp pop, and funky soul/funk. Sadly he passed away in 2015 at the age of 78.
Released back in ’65, there’s definitely an r&b vibe to it. Through the song he talks about his ability to drink various types of alcohol and “feel alright”. Don’t mix your drinks, kids!! There’s nothing overly clever about this one. It’s just a fun time record that raises a smile (and perhaps a glass). Heck, it might even have you dancing around the house too!
